BREAK YOUR FAST AT CAPITAL MAJLIS
EMIRATI IFTAR FAVOURITES
First to catch our eye is the Emirati selection - not something we see at a lot of iftars. The star of the show is a massive camel machbous, tender hunks of camel on a bed of aromatic rice, onion, nuts and spices. Emirati favourites chicken madrouba, harees and an excellent local lamb biryani round out the display.
LIVE STATIONS
More live stations have joined the ranks this year: we rate the crispy tostada filled with fresh Mexican ingredients, chicken penne in pink sauce whipped up as you watch, and a delicious Egyptian khoshari topped with crispy onion. A gold star must go to the Indian station: ‘chef’s choice’ rewards you with perfectly cooked tikka prawns - delicious!
DESSERT
Dessert deserves its own chapter, but we’ll stick to the highlight reel: lashings of Umm Ali with crispy edges (the best bit!), a surprising pineapple upside-down pudding swimming in custard and kunafa straight from the pan were all served warm - you'll enjoy this far too quickly for it to go cold!
Pluck chocolate profiteroles directly from the towering display, and savour the light and refreshing rasmalai, an Indian favourite.
End the meal with Turkish delight as you sip on Arabic coffee or pomegranate juice delivered by a dallah-toting tea boy.
Parking is conveniently available right outside and complimentary with a stamp.
Centrally located at ADNEC, and with a whole exhibition hall to call home, there is plenty of space for groups large and small, perfect for a corporate booking as well as family, friends and out of town visitors who’d love to experience a full-scale iftar.
